COMMITTEES
SLSI has formed several committees who serve the membership throughout the year to continue to make the association a success. These committees are briefly outlined below with more details available through the attached links.
Annual Meeting
These committee members plan and make arrangements for the annual meeting of the Society typically held in March of every year.
Continuing Education
This committee focuses on providing quality affordable continuing education to the practicing land surveyor in order to broaden and refresh the land surveyor's knowledge base and to enable the land surveyor to meet Iowa's continuing education requirements.
Ethics
These committee members are charged with receiving, reviewing and responding to complaints pertaining to the practice of land surveying in Iowa.
Legislative
The legislative committee will monitor proposed legislation that may be of interest to the land surveying profession, SLSI members and the land surveying firms, in conjunction with the association's lobbyist.
Membership
Members of this committee will work with the state office to solicit new members, check qualifications of applicants and communicate with membership.
Newsletter
Committee will work with executive director to see that the newsletter is published on a quarterly basis.
Nominations
Members will solicit candidates for election to the Board of Directors and nominate, receive and review recommendations or nominations for SLSI awards.
Technology
Committee will coordinate and recognize the impact of technologies on the land surveying profession and assist with the association.
